
Kimberly Hazelton
Director, Power Reactor Licensing and Compliance Integration Division, Canadian Nuclear and Safety Commission
Kimberly Hazelton’s 15 year career with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) started in 2006, as a designated inspector for the Directorate of Nuclear Substance Regulation. In 2010, Kimberly joined the Directorate of Power Reactor Regulation (DPRR) at the CNSC site office located at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. During her 11 years with the Darlington Regulatory Program Division, she first worked as a Power Reactor Site Inspector, leading regulatory compliance inspections of the nuclear power plant. In 2015, Kimberly then transitioned to the Power Reactor Site Office Supervisor role, being responsible for the oversight and execution of the DPRR regulatory compliance program at the site office. Kimberly gained further management experience as the acting Director of the Darlington Regulatory Program Division.
Kimberly became the Director of the Power Reactor Licensing and Compliance Integration Division in 2021. She is currently responsible for the development, integration and improvement of processes, procedures and tools in support of maintaining an effective Power Reactor Regulatory Program to ensure consistent regulation of Nuclear Power Plants in Canada.Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences and a Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
